Best Buddies

Brody and Ryker are the best of friends. Since having Ryker, my testimony of knowing that we were a family before coming to earth has really grown. Brody and Ryker were instantly connected and bonded to each other. As soon as we brought Ryker home from the hospital and we had Brody home with us again, Brody wanted to hold Ryker and be a part of everything involving him. From the beginning they have truly loved each other.

Now that Ryker is getting older you can not only feel the love they have for each other, but see it as well. Brody talks so sweetly with Ryker. One minute Brody will be saying, "no," or will just be talking and acting like a three-year-old and then see Ryker and with a sweet little voice say, "hi, Ryker. I love you my baby." Haha. Brody is so sweet with him. Something else that I love is that Brody will call him "Ryker D." (for Ryker David). My dad started calling him that and it caught on with Brody. It's one of my favorite things to hear. Ryker always lights up when he sees Brody and will jabber back to him.

They love playing together. When Ryker first was starting to grasp toys, Brody was having a really hard time sharing...it's still sometimes a hard thing, but it's definitely getting better. He's even sharing his beloved cars with Ryker. Whenever he wants to race his cars he has to make sure Ryker has one too. He always asks me first, "this one isn't too sharp, mom?" or, "he won't choke on this one, mama?" He's always very concerned about those things and that makes me happy, too. Ryker is always fascinated by watching Brody play...especially when he gets hyper...then come the cute little Ryker laughs.

Ryker is always smiling. ALWAYS. But this little guy is a hard nut to crack. You can try just about anything and make a fool out of yourself to try and get him to laugh and it just doesn't happen...he'll smile at you the whole time you're trying, but not one giggle when escape his cute self. Brody doesn't even have to try to get him to laugh. Brody is just about the only person to get Ryker really cracking up and laughing hard. Ryker will be sitting on the floor playing and Brody will jump off the couch next to him and Ryker will bust up. Brody will make a funny noise and out comes a giggle. Brody will "tickle" him and Ryker will laugh so hard. Brody is very proud of himself that he can get Ryker to laugh so easily. He constantly says, "Ryker thinks I'm so funny." I love that they have the special connection that they do at such a young age.

I hope and pray that they continue to be close always and to be each other's friends throughout their entire lives. I hope that they will always be there for each other and that they will always know that each one loves the other. I love these two little boys so much! I love watching them together and I can't wait to watch them grow up together!
