Brody's Mustache Birthday Party

Still trying to catch up...and I can't leave out Brody's fun birthday party we had for him.  He had told me he wanted a red and blue birthday party.  When I was trying to come up with ideas, a mustache/barbershop theme popped into my head.  I told him my ideas and he got really excited about it.  I think everything turned out really cute and most importantly I think he had fun and felt special on his special day.

We made red and blue decorations and had lots of fun planning the food.  We did vanilla cupcakes, (Brody's favorite), cookies and cream popcorn and honey and sea salt popcorn.  We had three different types of cookies, (oreo pudding cookies...Brody's choice, no-bake cookies and nutella cookies), milk, and chocolate milk and we also had lemons with candy sticks for the kids.  Everything was really yummy.

For fun and games we did "Pin the Mustache on Brody."  We made a big poster-size photo of Brody and I cut mustaches out of felt and the kids were blind folded and "pinned" a mustache on him.  It was so cute and Brody thought it was hilarious!  We also had mustache props for people to use during the party and to take home with them, and we also did a mustache contest.  We told all of the men coming to the party a few weeks in advance to grow out their mustaches and Brody was going to choose who had the best "real" mustache.  I have to say I'm impressed and a little grossed out at all of the mustache types we had.  Brody chose Grandpa Harris as the winner and his prize was a mustache comb.  I think everyone thought it was pretty funny.

Brody usually doesn't like being the center of attention, but he had a lot of fun at his party and I hope he knows just how many people love and adore him.  I'm sad my baby is growing up, but it is an adventure that I've been so thankful and blessed to be a part of.  I love you, Brody!!

More decorations.

Candy Stick Lemonade...Cut an "x" in the top of the lemon and place candy stick inside.  Suck on the candy and the lemon juice will eventually create holes in it giving you a candy straw and a yummy treat.

Being sung to.
