Christmas Eve 2012

We spent Christmas Eve with Jayson's family.  We had a yummy dinner and played "Minute to Win It" games.  The kids acted out the christmas story and had fun dressing up together.  Then Santa left his bag on the porch again.  It was fun times with people we love.  I love seeing my boys have so much fun with their cousins!

Christmas Time 2012

We had a very nice holiday this past year.  It's funny that I'm just barely getting around to posting it, but oh well.  We bought the boys their own christmas tree to decorate and Brody had so much fun picking out the decorations and putting it together in his room.  He, of course, chose all red decorations, and he had to have the lights on his tree turned on almost all day.  I think that Ryker had fun with it too, but this year will be even better...he'll get what's going on a bit more.

Brody made me a cute present at preschool and was so excited to give it to me...I loved it!

For Christmas we made his school teacher some treats and he made her a card...

Another fun thing we did during Christmas time is make "Grinch Drinks" and watch "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." It was lime sherbet with sprite.  It was a hit.

I can't wait for next Christmas!  (In six months..haha!)

Thanksgiving 2012

This past Thanksgiving we spent with my family.  It was so nice spending time with them and relaxing together.  Looking back through my photos, I only took pictures of the desserts.  I guess everyone will know what my favorite part of the meal was now.  This year I was in charge of a dessert and the rolls.  I decided to make fruit tartlets. Everything was from scratch and they turned out fabulous!  I will definitely be making them again.  It was my first time making rolls from scratch and they turned out okay.  The bottoms burned a little bit, so I'm not sure what happened there, but they tasted okay and I'll definitely try perfecting them in the future.

After dinner, my mom had a special surprise for Brody.  She had made gingerbread dough earlier in the day to make cookies with him.  Brody LOVES gingerbread cookies and she knew he would love them...and she was right.  He was so excited to roll them into balls and dip them in the sprinkles.  He ate so many cookies and loved them!  He had so much fun.  I love the holidays!

The fruit tartlets I made.  So yummy!

The rolls I made.

Halloween 2012

Halloween this past year was a blast!  Both boys were really into it and I had so much fun making their costumes.  Brody was Mario and Ryker was Luigi.  They still love wearing the hats around and they love to pretend their shooting fire or ice at Bowser.  Sometimes I get to be Princess Peach and other time I get to be Bowser.  I love playing with them!

We also had a really fun time going to the pumpkin patch.  Brody was having a blast and we finally had to tell him we had plenty of pumpkins and that we didn't need anymore.  "But, just one more," he kept telling us.  I was happy to see him having so much fun.  The highlight for me was when I accidentally stepped in a rotten pumpkin and got the guts got all over my shoe.  Luckily I was able to clean it off, but it was pretty gross.  Ryker also had lots of fun picking out a pumpkin.  They were running around the patch and jumping and giggling the whole time.

On Halloween night, we went trick-or-treating with the cousins who also live in Daybreak.  Brody was more confident than last year and wasn't afraid to go up to the doors all by himself...even without his cousins.  He scored tons of candy!  Ryker went to a few houses, but then he and Elle got to have a stroller ride the rest of the night.  Lots of people come to Daybreak to go trick-or-treating.  We got to see lots of cool costumes.  There was a pair of girls dressed up as princesses riding actual ponies!  At one point in the night the parents had the ponies in an area of grass to take a break.  It was next to a haunted house someone had for the kids who came to their house.  There was a noise from it that spooked one of the ponies and it took off.  We were all afraid he was going to trample a bunch of kids or get hit by a car.  I don't know how it ended, but the owner had to chase after it.  I hope it turned out okay.  We sure had a fun Halloween and I can't wait for next year!
